This Cancer Survivor From Bangalore Has Gone On To Become A Mrs. India Worldwide Finalist

08/17/2019

Surviving cancer and staying undaunted by scars or obstacles, Tanisha Roy's journey from corporate employee to model to Mrs. India Worldwide 2019 finalist is inspiring!

Ask Tanisha Roy how she stayed strong when her father passed away in 2012 or when she was diagnosed with pleomorphic adenoma (a form of cancerous tumour) in 2018, and the Bangalore-based model will tell you how she was taught to be a princess as well as a warrior. And this conviction is what led the self-driven cancer survivor to rise up to being a finalist in the Haute Monde Mrs India Worldwide pageant. One of the 172 women selected for the finals, chosen from over 30,000 participants across the globe, Tanisha's story stands out for being truly motivating.

Having taken a sabbatical from her corporate job to chase her dreams, Tanisha had been modelling and doing shoots when she was diagnosed with first stage of cancer. The tumour which started in the salivary gland left her with no option but to go for surgery. Although successful, the operation left a huge scar from her ear to the neck.

Undaunted, Tanisha decided to participate in the international competition and resorted to regular workouts and diets in order to lose weight. Having risen to the finalists now, she proudly wears her scars as remnants of her battle with cancer. With the Mrs India Worldwide 2019 finals coming up in October, to be held in Greece, she hopes to make India proud and win the crown! While moved by her inspiring story, we hope the brave beauty gets her dream come true.
